How to disinfect your shoes after you've had plantar warts?


Plantar warts are caused by virus. Because of that, a lot of peoples who had manage to get rid of their wart are worried about been reinfected again by the remaining warts virus that might have survive in their shoes or sock.

During treatment period, some peoples use bandage or duct tape to cover the wart and prevent the virus from spreading. Unfortunately, sometime when wearing shoes and socks, the band aid could come off due to your feet movement.

This situation is making peoples worried about the wart virus surviving in the shoes or sock after they manage to get the wart removed. So how do you disinfect your shoes?

This cleaner never claim to be able to kill the virus that cause plantar warts

You can try cleaning and disinfecting your shoes by using Lysol® Disinfectant Spray. However, Lysol® Disinfectant Spray manufacture never said their product can fight the HPV virus that cause plantar wart at the first place.

But since Lysol spray can be use to fight many type of virus and bacteria, it's probably your best bet if you want to try disinfecting your shoes. Nevertheless, buying a new shoes and sock might be a better option for you. Just to be sure.

Can you ask to be put to sleep during plantar wart surgery?


When it come to plantar wart removal surgery, the pain that you going to face during the procedure probably is your number one concern. A lot of peoples are really good at handling a regular pain in their life but when it come to surgery, it just another different story.

To avoid this pain and as a solution to this problem. Some people are thinking about getting them self to be put to sleep during the surgery. The question remain could you actually demand the doctor to do that for you?

Plantar wart surgery is considered too minor

Doctor usually wouldn't agree to put you to sleep for minor surgery like this. Putting someone to sleep is only acceptable under certain circumstances. For minor and small surgery such as plantar wart removal surgery, your doctor might refuse to put you to sleep because of these reason:
  • The pain is usually bearable
  • Putting you to sleep has it risk
  • In some cases, insurance company approval is needed
What can you do:

The only way to deal with this is to discuss it with your doctor and see if there's anything that he/she can do to help you relax. Nevertheless, keep in mind that this is just a small surgery and most peoples are doing just fine during the entire procedures. Putting you to sleep isn't even necessary at the first place.
